PACI OUTDOOR RECREATION
TRAINING COURSES - General
This site is a gate-way for all recreational climbing and
abseiling courses - you can download and/or access important learning
resources and course paperwork.
PACI has produced some of the finest roping related learning
resources in the world, and content gets updated and improved regularly.
It is important to understand that no printed learning content
can replace competent face-to-face instruction with a competent and
experienced instructor. PACI learning resources are there to assist you in
your journey, but will never replace an instructor! Your instructor is your
primary source of learning.
Hit your refresh button to make sure that you are viewing the
latest files (we make changes and update learning support resources on a
regular basis).
Most (but not all) of these documents are designed to be
completed in electronic pdf format. At this stage, the exam papers are not in
fillable pdf format - so they need to be printed in hard copy. Some pdf files
are very large and have lots of pages. We don't recommend that
you print them out in hard copy because your printer will run out of ink! If
you want to refer to study guides, you should download and save the pdf files
to your favourite electronic device. You can bring your device to the course
along with a notebook and pen.
You need to make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe
Acrobat reader, as this will ensure that you can open pdf files in their
native fillable format.

Copyright warning
All papers on this website are intellectual property. You do
not have permission to link directly to (and host) these documents.
Permission to use PACI intellectual property is a privilege
that is granted - it is not a 'right'.
If you are granted permission to use PACI intellectual
property, you must still comply with the rules we have set.
Using
PACI intellectual property without permission is a crime known as stealing.
NOTE: The concept of 'free in the public domain' doesn't
actually exist in many national legal jurisdictions. For any content to be
'free' of any copyright restrictions, the original author/owner would
normally have to be deceased for more than 70 years and/or there would have
to be an 'Act of State' to declare a work or content to be released into the 'public
domain'. As soon as something is created and published,
copyright laws apply automatically.
Even if an author/original owner intended
his work to be released from copyright, this would be difficult if not
impossible to execute in many Western jurisdictions.
