OVERVIEW OF ENDORSEMENT SYSTEMPACI members are assigned a range of endorsements commensurate with their training and experience. Endorsements define the scope of activities a person can engage in. If you do not have a particular endorsement, then you cannot offer service in that area.To receive a particular endorsement, you must be capable of leading others in that particular skill area. Ability to participate in a skill area for personal sport and recreation by itself does not mean that you will automatically recieve that endorsement. Each year, PACI members are required to maintain their skill proficiency for their range of endorsements. By keeping current, a member will be able to qualify for active status. If relevant skills are not kept current, the member will become "inactive" for that particular endorsement. Special conditions apply for members who have attained five (5) or more consecutive years of experience in a given endorsement.A member may voluntarily decide to go "inactive" for certain endorsement. Later, when knowledge and skills are again current, that member may become "active" for those endorsements. The following table illustrates the requirements to initially attain a particular endorsement:
Note: When determining minimum experience, no individual route may be counted more than once. |
